Groop SMS Opt-In Policy
Groop is a conversational, user-initiated SMS coordination assistant.
Users opt in to SMS messaging by voluntarily sending a text message to the Groop phone number.
By texting Groop first, users give express consent to receive SMS responses related to:
• group creation and coordination
• tasks and reminders
• polls and event alerts
• user-triggered updates and notifications
Groop does not send SMS messages until the user initiates contact.
Groop does not send promotional or marketing messages.
Users may opt out at any time by replying STOP.

Groop SMS Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Groop SMS coordination service (“Groop”, “the Service”).
By texting the Groop phone number, you agree to these Terms.
1. Overview of the Service
Groop is a conversational SMS assistant that helps users coordinate tasks, groups, reminders, events, and shared plans.
The Service is entirely user-initiated. Groop only sends SMS messages:
in direct response to user messages,
when delivering user-scheduled reminders or notifications, or
when required for system functionality (e.g., HELP or STOP confirmations).
Groop does not send marketing or promotional messages.
2. Opt-In
You opt into SMS messages by texting the Groop phone number directly.
Your first inbound message to Groop constitutes express consent to receive SMS replies and user-triggered notifications.
3. Opt-Out
You may opt out at any time by replying: STOP
After opting out, you will no longer receive messages unless you text Groop again, which will be treated as a new opt-in.
4. HELP and Support
Reply: HELP to receive assistance or information about using Groop.

5. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your usage.
Because Groop is user-driven, frequency depends on:
the number of commands you send,
reminders or alerts you choose to schedule, and
activities occurring in groups you participate in.
Groop does not send unsolicited or recurring marketing messages.
6. Message & Data Rates
Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier.
Groop is not responsible for carrier charges.
7. Eligibility
You must be:
at least 13 years old, and
the authorized user of the phone number you use to communicate with Groop.
8. Privacy
Groop collects and processes only the information necessary to operate the SMS coordination service, such as:
your phone number,
your messages to Groop, and
group/task data you explicitly create.
Groop does not share or sell your personal information.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Groop to:
send spam or abusive content,
harass others,
impersonate another person or entity,
conduct unlawful activities, or
attempt to exploit or reverse-engineer the service.
Violation may result in suspension or termination.
10. Service Availability
Groop is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
We are not liable for:
carrier delays or failures,
undelivered messages,
incorrect scheduling due to inaccurate user input, or
outages beyond our control.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time.
Continued use of Groop after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
